Can anyone tell me how this series will be conducted? Will she be broadcasted live on the website? Or will she be doing live Q & A? Or is this a recorded speech being broadcasted at a certain time?
Hello Josh—
The interviews we have planned for this year will not be broadcast live — we will be recording the conversation with each speaker and placing the video on the site on the dates indicated to make it easy for all educators to view the discussion at the time that works best for them.
We are also asking many guests to participate in a live chat at a later date — we'll be posting those dates as they become final! The chat content will also be archived on the site so people can read it later.
You need to be logged in to view the Speaker Series page:
thanks for the help!!!
one more question -- will the recorded session be available just at a specific time (like a tv show -- without tivo), or will it be available to play at any time for a certain number of days?
actually, another question: will an abstract of the interview be posted somewhere before the launch?
thanks much!
We're currently planning to have the recorded session available indefinitely.
We have short descriptive summaries in the Speaker Series section. We hadn't planned on a fuller abstract, but it's a great idea. I will post here if we do!
thank you for being so helpful.
My pleasure. Don't hesitate to post here if you have any additional questions.
How do we register for the speaker series?
hi Melissa,
All you need to do is be a member of the Thinkfinity Community and you will be able to watch the video content in our Speaker Series section. Just make sure you are logged in!
The video will be on the site at all times starting Sep 27, so there is no 'live' date or any other registration that is needed.

i'm still having trouble locating what the discussion will be about. for instance, i'm looking to see what ben carson's interview will be about. i wanted to recommend it to our anatomy class, if it was applicable.
I'm not Josh, but in as much as he hopes that Dr. Carson will speak about anatomy, I am very interested in hearing about his early years in education. I have seen the Ben Carson Story but I work with some many at-risk children who have special needs and I need all the help I can get in motivating the kids to work on their education and not just feel like failures all the time. My most difficult students are those who came into this world addicted to crack. Their neurology is so mixed up that intrinsic motivation hides very well and extrinsic motivation is non-existent. So this leaves Dr. Carson with a unique perspective of how to reach the seemingly unreachable. In my public charter school of 810, I am faced with approximately 10 students for whom this situation would be applicable. Whatever is the best forum to get this question answered would be of interest to me.
I can't find the interview clips. Help.
hi Lynn—we're posting them a little later in the day, in a few hours. Head to the Speaker Series section and click the Ben Carson link at left. The clips are great (I've had a sneak preview) — so I hope you'll come back and have a look!
