Thanks so much for finding this link.  Yes, I saw that on the NYTimes site, and actually worked through the interactive.  My problem with this interactive is that the amounts are pre-selected.  The user cannot alter ... it's either cut this amount or not.  Even when I tried to eliminate entire agencies (which I couldn't,) the budget was not in sinc.  But, I do think it provides a good overall view of the vast difficulty in cutting discretionary spending.

Lets keep looking for an interactive.  I'm actually going to put my macro class to work on the budget as their project this semester, but haven't found the exact combination.  There are several other interactives, but most are not even current.
